OneTwoTrip: Turkey and Thailand are the most popular countries among Russians for a beach holiday in summer
Experts told which countries tourists choose for a beach summer holiday this year, reports OneTwoTrip.
The company’s specialists analyzed flight booking data for the period from May 1 to September 30. Turkey remains the most popular destination for the second year in a row, where 22.6 percent of orders have already been placed. The demand for flights increased by 43 percent over the year.
Thailand is in second place, where 5.7 percent of travel documents are booked. Last year, the country was not on the list of places for a summer beach holiday due to coronavirus restrictions, and Greece took the second place with a share of 6.4 percent. This year, she did not enter the top ten.
Seychelles closes the top three most popular routes: they account for 5.5 percent of all orders for the period from May to September. The demand for the direction increased 2.3 times over the year, which allowed it to rise above last year’s fifth place in the rating.
The UAE also appeared in the list of popular summer beach countries this year with a share of 3.9 percent. Interest in holidays in the Emirates has grown 6.5 times over the year. Maldives, where three percent of tours are booked, is in fifth place. Their share decreased by 20 percent, and the direction moved from third place to slightly lower.
Less than three percent of the demand is for tickets to France, Spain, Indonesia, Israel and Georgia.
